Hello my friends around the world, my name is Byron Velasquez. I serve in the country of Guatemala, supporting our partners in different areas so that they continue to impact their communities with the Gospel of Jesus. Today I want to thank you for all your prayers and support for CBM, because they are very important to us in the field. The pandemic has calmed down and many things are back to normal. I want to share some prayer requests for you to continue praying for us:

The country struggles with high levels of infant, child and maternal mortality, illiteracy, and other health and development issues. Religion in Guatemala is a complex mix of traditional Mayan spirituality in particularly in the highlands, along with Catholicism and Evangelical Christianity.

El Salvador

2024-01-22T13:03:16-05:00

El Salvador has had a long history of war, inequity, and injustice. Civil unrest, crime, gang violence, and poverty are factors that contribute to widespread migration of those fleeing the country. While agricultural production represents 10-11% of the GDP, it only employs 20% of the labour force.
