CBM’s partner in Bolivia has a beekeeping and honey initiative in rural communities called Miski Hampi, which in the indigenous language means sweet remedy. Families receive beehives and training on how to care for bees, harvest and market their honey.
Alejandra took part in training workshops and has been diligently caring for her beehives. She recently joined others from Miski Hampi to participate in the local honey fair where she was able to put her skills to work selling her product. Other vendors sold their honey in two litre pop bottles, but soon discovered that many people were unwilling to buy such a large quantity. Alejandra took a different approach – she brought her honey in a pot and filled containers with the exact amount people requested.
By the end of the day, she had sold all of her honey and made a significant profit.
Through the love, care and support they received from our partners, Alejandra, along with other participants, have a new source of income to support their families and are experiencing the transforming love of Christ. Thank you for your partnership in this vibrant ministry.
