April 2025
Greetings,
Here at CBM, we are preparing ourselves for Easter with an observation of lent in our weekly chapel. Lent is a newer practice for many in Baptist circles, though many other denominations have long embraced this season of reflection. As we journey together, we are discovering its depth—not as mere tradition, but as a sacred space to listen, repent, and prepare our hearts for Easter.
This year, we are centring our reflections on the Seven Last Words of Jesus—his final statements from the cross. Three weeks in, these words are already speaking profoundly into our lives. Through small group conversations and global chapel gatherings, we are hearing Jesus’ voice afresh: calling us to forgiveness, offering salvation, and redefining relationships.
Lent is teaching us to slow down, to listen, and to walk this road together. As we continue, may we remain open to what Christ is saying to us—and through us—together.
