Ministry Update 2024 – 2025

Last year, in April 2024, AEBR – Our Partner in Rwanda, had their end of Projects Evaluation done and I was happy to be a part of the team that conducted the Evaluation. This was done for the Adult Literacy and Family Ministries and also the OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) projects. This evaluation was done to assess the projects impact in the working communities since 2010 – to 2023 years of project implementation. Also, the evaluation was done to explore the outcomes and the impact of the project in order to facilitate an understanding among OVC project stakeholders, AEBR staff, partners and beneficiaries. The evaluation was also aimed at  identifying and documenting the best practices and lessons learned during the program implementation period as well as offer recommendations for future project management. The findings were mainly about how outcomes were achieved, gaps , relevance of the project, effectiveness and efficiency, and the ways of sustainability to initiated activities.

Another Key area of my ministry is serving as the PSEA focal point person for our Partners in Africa. In late 2023 CBM and ACC&S began the journey of formulating a PSEA policy for ACC&S. With Consultation from experts and team work with ACC&S and CBM, the ACC&S PSEA Policy was finally approved by the General Counsel and was Launched on 28th of February 2025. The project aimed at creating awareness on matters related to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and it did so through communicating PSEA relevant information in a way that is non-threatening, accessible to all groups and contextually and culturally appropriate in tackling taboos or stigma related to PSEA. All staff needed to clearly understand the church stand on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and complaints and reporting mechanisms. The project was implemented in all the regions that ACC&S have churches, Schools and community development work that is ongoing. Numerous trainings were done for all clergy, youth and stuff with the Campaign Slogan – Sitakimya!(Meaning, I will not remain silent!)

Recently our Partner in Kenya ACC&S was blessed to have our new Director of Partnerships, Africa, Europe and MENA regions – Helle Liht, Africa Team Leader- Andre Sibomana and Team Lead Marketplace Engagement – Michael Waddell  visiting the ACC&S executive leadership, the Bible College and children within the Mentorship project of the Women in Action.
