Support for Pastors and Bible School Students
The Support for Pastors and Bible School Students project helps gifted Bible leaders in the Golden Triangle region by providing them scholarships for continued education, assistance in church-planting, and support for workers in community services.
The Situation
The Golden Triangle Region (Thailand, Myanmar & Laos) has a small but growing Christian population, and there is a need for trained leaders to plant churches, run small groups, and support community programs. Chinese Ministries Team Leaders Conrad and Fiona Kwok, along with National Field Staff Joseph Lee and Lilian Yang are working with pastors and alumni of Bethel Bible Institute to develop and expand ministries in the region. There are a lot of ministry needs and opportunities in the Golden Triangle Region, but many Bible students and recent graduates struggle with financial instability. Students and graduates are provided with scholarships and mentoring from local pastors so that they can provide leadership in their communities.

How We Are Helping
Further Theological Training
Scholarships are offered to theology students to continue their education in a seminary.
Support for workers in Community Services (Orphanages, Drugs Rehabilitation Centers, Student Centers)
CBM provides financial support for students, pastors and workers in various community service organizations so that they can serve and bless their communities without worrying about generating income to support their families.
Church Planting
Recent graduates of Bethel Bible Institute will be provided internship and mentoring opportunities at local churches and will be supported as they plant their own churches.
The Impact of Our Work
De Hui is a wife and mother of three children. The family lives in Myanmar and raises pigs for a living. In 2018, De Hui responded to God’s call to receive theological training and become a pastor. When the pandemic began, the border between Thailand and Myanmar was closed, forcing De Hui to continue her studies online. She was faced with new challenges such as balancing work and studying, and difficulties accessing the internet. She was buying mobile data, but it was expensive. When she received the support from our project fund, it enabled her to install Wi-Fi at home. She said, “I am happy to be able to stay at home with my family and study at the same time, but it is also very challenging to balance work and my studies. I received the support fund when I was really in need. I feel that God hasn’t forgotten me, and He knows my situation.
