Our Distance on the Internet
“Distance” has become a key word in our social life this year. We are not able to meet each other in person. Our fellowship, ministries and meetings have to be done in “the air”. However, I thank God that I can still get things done and able to share my joy with you.
The Distance of Teaching Online
I have completed teaching ‘The Book of John’ at Thailand Bethel Theological Institute (TBTI) in November. This course has to be taught both inperson and online. There are 4 students in class and 20 online. The experience in teaching this semester has been better than last semester. By studying the ‘Book of John’, we are deeply touched by the love of God through meditating on Jesus and how He care for His disciples. We were comforted by the word of God especially in the days of loneliness.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…

As Jesus make His permanent stay among us, we are no longer far from Him. Praise God that there is no “distance” between Him and us anymore.
The Distance of Serving Online
Churches in Thailand has resumed the physical Sunday service since July. My weekend ministries include preaching at different churches and leading bible study resumed as normal. However, we still record daily devotional videos for brothers and sisters who are not able to attend church regularly. Now we have brothers and sisters from Thailand, Myanmar and other places watching the videos and gave us very positive feedback. It has been very encouraging for us to move on. The recording is not an easy task for me because I do not have the experience at all. But I have witnessed the importance of team work to make things happened. As:

We can work together to accomplish His work and to learn new things. We learned to overcome the distances, various obstacles and also our limitations. When the distance online became a new normal, let us embrace and make it work to serve God and the people in needs.
The Distance of Meeting Online
Thai-Myanmar border was closed since March 23 due to the pandemic. Since the second wave of outbreaks began in Myanmar in September, the whole country is greatly affected. People have to face greater poverty; churches and schools are closed and children cannot attend neither physical nor online classes. The outbreak not only challenge people’s health, but also affected the economy, education and food supplies. Although our mission projects in Myanmar can still be continued during the outbreak, but our mission partners have to face various constraints and challenges. We can only be connected by online meetings. Our plan for visiting our mission projects was cancelled. Nevertheless, the online meetings allow us to have fellowship and pray for each other. Through the reports from our mission partners, we can see the gospel is still able to be proclaimed in different places.
Prayer Requests
- Please pray for God’s mercy upon Thailand and Myanmar since the COVID-19 cases are rising every day in both countries.
- Please pray for the safety of teachers and students of Thailand Bethel Theological Institute. Pray for the students who are not able to return to campus to preserver through their studies.
- Please pray for God’s provision for our mission partners in Myanmar, Zheng Zhu student center and Lahu mission project.
- Please pray for me and my family to have wisdom and strength to serve God in Thailand efficiently and also be pleasing to God.
