Dear brothers and sisters,
Peace in the Lord!
Greetings from Kassel, Germany. Thank you for caring about us, for being willing to learn about our ministry and life here, and for praying for us. We would like to share with you God’s marvellous works so we might praise Him together.
Growing Student Ministry
The development of a college student ministry has always been a challenge for our church. Because of the pandemic over the past years, student services in the church were suspended. In the meantime, many of the university students in the church have graduated one after another, meaning we have lost a valuable bridge to reach out to new students. We have tried many ways to reach out to them, but the results have not been satisfactory. The brothers and sisters of the church and our mission partners have been praying for this.
Amazingly, in February this year, God brought us a very faithful student from China. Then last month God brought us another student who grew up in a Christian family in China but had stopped going to church. Since her arrival, she has been steadily attending Sunday services and Bible studies. A few days ago, God brought another Christian student into the church from another city in Germany because of a university transfer. Unconsciously, the student Bible study group has become active. We praise God for this and are inspired to prepare for the “welcome new students’ ministry” at the beginning of the new semester in October.
Celebrating Spiritual Growth
Not only that, but in the spiritual growth of the members of the church, God’s glory and power are also manifested, and those who trust in Him are blessed. In the church, there is a teenager who is autistic in a more serious situation. Our brothers and sisters are very accepting and loving towards him. His mother is a believer and has been bringing him to Sunday services for the past two years. We are very thankful to see that this young person is willing to pray, can sing many hymns, and recently expressed his willingness to follow the Lord Jesus for the rest of his life.
Through his growth and changes, the whole people in our church have seen God’s power and mercy. Even the teen’s rehabilitation teacher told his mother that the boy was progressing and no longer needed any treatment. Now, in the context of an economic downturn and layoffs in Germany, his mother has even found a job. She said to us, “Since I have believed in Jesus, everything is getting better. I don’t worry, there is nothing to worry about.”
Glory to God
On the road of mission, we deeply feel that as long as we are faithful servants of the Lord, earnestly prepare to share God’s word, sincerely teach and care for our brothers and sisters, and strive to find various opportunities to preach the gospel, the Holy Spirit will work among us to bring glory to God’s name. We are very thankful that our brothers and sisters continue to grow spiritually under the feeding of God’s word, and that more are willing to participate in church service – the cohesion of the church is gradually being strengthened!
Thank you for reading our sharing and praying for us, may the Lord bless you all.
Prayer Requests:
- Pray for the student ministry in our church, as well as the upcoming “welcome new students’ ministry” in October.
- Our church is facing a transition in the children’s Sunday school ministry, from which the youth need to be separated as a group so that the youth of the church will be more appropriately taught and shepherded. Please pray for the teachers, teaching materials, and arrangements for this transition.
- Pray for the health of our family. Our family members have been sick one after another for two months, which has affected not only our daily life but also our ministry, especially the visitation ministry.
