Greetings from Kenya

It is a joy and a privilege to continue serving as the Marketplace Coordinator for East Africa. My heart remains to come alongside partners through training on the integration of faith and work, and through mentoring and coaching in the area of redemptive business initiatives. I am deeply thankful to be part of what God is doing in and through the marketplace across our region and I am pleased to share some of the activities I have been engaged in over the last six months

Training on integration of faith and work with AEBR in Rwanda

In the month of September, we conducted an Integral Mission Workplace Training with 31 participants drawn from the Association of Baptist Churches in Rwanda (AEBR). The participants came from diverse backgrounds, including church leaders (pastors), heads of schools, and businesswomen and businessmen. This rich and strategic mix created a strong platform for cascading the concept of marketplace ministry across churches, educational institutions, and the business community. The diversity of the group greatly enriched the discussions and strengthened the practical integration of faith and work.

The mentoring and coaching of Redemptive business.

For the last six months I have been mentoring the initiation of a redemptive business with AEBR. This project is supporting five women’s self-help groups engaged in knitting sweaters, vegetable farming, carpentry, handicrafts, and fabric making. Each group addresses a community need while improving livelihoods. The project aims at providing training in business, financial management, marketing, and product diversification, along with need-based financial support. Groups repay an agreed percentage to ensure project sustainability. The first training took place in November 2025 bringing together the group leaders and their local pastors.

Fruit Juice processing factory with CBCA in DR Congo

It has been a great joy to witness how livelihoods are being improved through the Juice factory redemptive business where farmers who previously watched their fruits go to waste now have a reliable market through our CBCA Fruit Processing Redemptive Business Project in DR Congo. This has not only increased their incomes but also restored dignity and hope.
