Looking Back: Fourteen Months of Ministry
It is hard to believe that fourteen months have already passed since I began my ministry with CBM. Looking back, this season has been marked by both challenges and blessings.
We have walked through wars, political instability, fear, and pain — yet, in the midst of it all, we have witnessed God’s steadfast faithfulness. We have celebrated moments of victory, experienced a renewed commitment to prayer, and been reminded daily that the Lord is holding all things together for His glory.
One story that deeply encouraged me was meeting a pastor serving in a small community impacted by war. Though his church building had been damaged and his congregation scattered, his eyes shone with hope as he shared how they still gather — sometimes in homes, sometimes outdoors — to pray and encourage one another.
Another powerful encounter came during a training session where I met a young, educated man. When I asked why he chose to attend a training on peacebuilding, he answered, “I was invited by Jesus Christ.” Unsure if he was speaking metaphorically, I asked him to explain. His response left me in awe:
“I am a Muslim, searching for the truth. One night, Jesus Christ appeared to me in a dream and said, ‘The truth is in Me. Seek, and you will find Me. I want you to be Mine.’ That is why I am here — He invited me to know this Jesus and to be with His people.” Encounters like these remind me why this ministry matters and why your partnership is so vital. Together, we are witnessing lives being transformed by the power of the Gospel — even in the hardest of places.
Strengthening Partnerships
Over these past 14 months, I have had the privilege of:
• Building partnerships across the region
• Training ministers serving in unreached areas (Yemen, Tunisia, Sudan, Iraq & Syria)
• Supporting relief efforts for families displaced by war (Sudan & Lebanon)
• Exploring long-term partnerships to share Christ in both word and deed (Iraq, Sudanese in Egypt, Sudan)
Looking Ahead
In the coming months, I will be working to catch up on some postponed plans because of war in different areas in the region, before the end of the year, laying a foundation for new opportunities in 2026.
Our focus will be on Sudan and displaced Sudanese communities in Egypt, Iraq, and Yemenis in Egypt. These are places where the need is urgent, and we believe there is great potential for deeper cooperation and greater impact — bringing hope and healing where it is most needed.
Thank you
Thank you, dear friends, for standing with me in this journey — through your prayers, encouragement, and partnership. Your faithfulness reminds me that we are not alone in this mission.
Together, we are witnessing the Kingdom of God break through in the midst of conflict and despair. With heartfelt gratitude and hope, Rabih Wazir
