Can I Be The One To Help?
Felix Muema can be found in Thika, Kenya, studying at the Bible school of CBM’s partner, the Africa Christian Church and Schools (ACC&S). Through a CBM scholarship, he is preparing for pastoral ministry, a calling that began taking shape in his heart when he was still very young.
Felix is married to Juliette, and together they are raising two young children. Family life is central to him, and it strengthens his desire to serve others with compassion and faithfulness.
As a child, Felix loved going to church and paid close attention to the pastors who served his community. “When I was a little boy, I already loved going to church,” he recalls. “I saw good role models in the pastors that I knew.” At the same time, he became increasingly aware of the struggles around him. Many people were hurting, and their needs weighed heavily on his heart. He remembers asking himself a simple but life shaping question: “Can I be the one to help?” From that moment on, he began asking God to use him to bring hope and life to others.
Today, Felix is actively living out that calling. He has completed the first year of his two year theological program and is growing both academically and spiritually. Alongside his classroom studies, he is gaining hands on ministry experience under the guidance of an experienced pastor. At ACC&S Bahati church, Felix leads the children’s ministry, serving around sixty children each week. He also carries broader leadership responsibilities within the congregation, all as part of a mentoring relationship with the senior pastor.
This combination of theological study, practical service, and personal mentorship is shaping Felix into a thoughtful and grounded leader. It is also helping him understand how to apply biblical truth to the realities people face today.
Felix is clear that this opportunity would not have been possible without the scholarship support he receives through CBM. Without it, he believes he would still be serving faithfully as a volunteer, but without the training needed to guide others with depth and confidence.
Today, Felix finds joy in his studies, in time spent with his young family, and in witnessing transformation within his church community. His heart is filled with gratitude for God’s provision and for those who have made his training possible. He continues to pray for strength to serve well and for God’s protection over his congregation, longing to see them shine as lights in their community.
Through Felix’s journey, we see how investing in theological education is equipping leaders who are ready to serve, guide, and bring hope to others.
