Greetings brothers and sisters!
March marks the end of the academic year here in Thailand. Many students are excited to graduate and step into the next stage of their lives, while younger students are looking forward to their summer holiday plans. This season also brings the hottest time of the year, along with the celebration of the Songkran water festival and the preparation of land for agriculture before the rainy season.
However, this period has also led to widespread wildfires and serious smog problems. We are unable to breathe fresh air under these conditions, and it has become a challenge to our health.
Family Update
We are currently experiencing rising prices of fuel and daily goods. In addition, the shortage of fuel supply has caused many people to live under pressure and anxiety. Despite these challenges, our family continues to receive God’s grace—we are safe and have enough for our needs.
Our daughter Sophia is doing well at school, and she will be entering Grade 11 next semester.
Ministry Update
Thailand Bethel Theological Institute (TBTI) concluded its academic year on March 20 with its 54th graduation ceremony, celebrating 23 graduates from both the Chinese and Thai departments. These graduates have completed their studies and are now preparing to enter various mission fields.
In 2026, CBM continue its partnership with TBTI to support students from Thailand, Myanmar, and neighboring countries. This project is designed to provide scholarships, textbooks, and opportunities for outreach trips to connect students with local churches. With the hope of strengthening local ministry toward greater sustainability, the project also includes a fish farming initiative to help generate income for TBTI’s ministry.
In 2026, we have launched a new project to support vulnerable minority communities in villages in Northern Thailand. These communities were previously participants in the Land Rights Awareness Training project. Through that initiative, they have grown stronger in understanding their rights and have become more engaged in environmental protection.
This new project aims to support the villagers through career development programs by providing livestock and practical training, helping them build more sustainable livelihoods. The villagers deeply appreciate the support and are finding renewed hope for their future.
Our ministry seeks to follow in the footsteps of Jesus by carrying out integral mission—walking alongside our partners to participate in God’s work of restoring a broken world with word and deed. We have conducted integral mission workshops to share practical ways of implementing mission in our context. Participants include local church leaders, project partners, and staff from local mission organizations. Through these workshops, participants are gaining a broader vision for mission while also exchanging experiences and ideas. Despite the challenges in the region, God continues to work. His grace is sufficient for his servants, and we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with him in his mission.
I am deeply thankful for your prayers and support in my ministry. I believe that God works through our prayers. May our Lord Jesus Christ grant you and your family peace and joy.
Prayer Requests:
- Please pray for the challenging situations caused by fuel shortages, inflation, and the smog crisis resulting from wildfires in Thailand and Myanmar. May God grant his mercy and protection to all who are affected.
- Please pray for the new TBTI graduates as they step into the mission field. May God guide and protect them in every situation they encounter.
- Please pray for the career development project, that vulnerable communities will gain access to justice, safety, and more stable livelihoods.
- Please pray for all our projects in Thailand and Myanmar as our partners conclude the first quarter of their activities. May each project yield fruit and bring joy and hope to the people.
Thank you and blessings,
Lilian
