Dear brothers and sisters:

Shalom! Greetings from the Golden Triangle. I would like to thank you all for your unwavering prayer and support for the mission work in the Golden Triangle. May the grace and peace of God be upon you!

Summer vacation in Thailand is from March to May. My daughter has completed Grade 8, and is looking forward to joining a new school in the upcoming school year. I thank God for His guidance and provision for my family. I pray that my daughter will learn and grow happily through her new experiences at the new school. She is turning fifteen and starting to explore her faith more deeply. May God guide her through His word!

In 2024, we started a new project in partnership with Chiang Rai Jireh Church to support the tribal community in Northern Thailand. Due to the local community’s unawareness of forest laws, misunderstandings and conflicts have arisen between the villagers, who rely on the forest for their livelihood, and the authorities. Some unjust land occupation and exploitation have challenged the livelihood of the local community. This project provides land rights awareness training for the villagers and helps facilitate communication with the authorities. The project activities are showing promise in positively impacting this vulnerable community.

March 8 marked the Yangon Nursing Aid Training graduation ceremony, where 14 youths were trained and can now access employment opportunities. This four-month training program helps young people in Myanmar gain better employment skills. We are so happy to report that five of them accepted Jesus and were baptized. The second session of the training will launch in September.

Thailand Bethel Theological Institute started its new academic year on May 14. Fourteen new students have joined and are being equipped to become future pastors and mission workers in the Golden Triangle. Through our partnership, the students can access tuition support and the school is able to purchase new library books. We also support the TBTI’s outreach program.

Prayer Requests

  1. Please pray for our trip to visit projects in Myanmar and Thailand with our Team Leader. Pray for our safety, especially in Myanmar, and that our visit will encourage our partners.
  2. Please pray for our projects being implemented in Myanmar and Thailand, including support for local theological education, drug rehabilitation ministry, child care project, community development, and youth and women’s vocational training. May these projects glorify God and bless the local people.
  3. Please pray for my family. My wife and I are working and pursuing further studies. Pray that God will strengthen us to balance our roles and serve the people more effectively. Please also pray for our daughter Sophia. May God guide her and bless her in her path of following Jesus.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update. I hope that you will join us in praising God for His work in the Golden Triangle. As we draw closer to God’s heart, we see more needs and hear His invitation to participate in His work. May God bless you!

Your mission partner,

Joseph Lee
